Industrial Filming

We specialise in industrial filming and industrial manufacturing video production. Filming is about capturing a series of moving images to create a motion picture. Over the years, this has evolved into filming with electronic sensors and recording media to flashcards and other electronic media.

Filming in an industrial setting or industrial workplace brings its challenges; safety boots, high-vis jackets, hard hats and sometimes safety goggles, as a means of protecting your eyes from fine-metal splinters! Safety whilst filming is really significant; we often film in teams of 2 so we have each other’s back, and we can both film footage which can complement and compose the final production.

His approach to our bespoke industrial machinery and swift turnaround of the end product has been exceptional. We have continued to develop our working relationship on a range of other projects including drone appraisals of our new facility. I cannot speak highly enough of his character, work ethic and look forward to working on our exciting new developments later this year.

Capturing Footage

Capturing the footage of the industrial machinery or industrial scenery can be very creative though. Sometimes we will film using motion time-lapses; concentrating on a particular machine and placing the camera on a very-slow moving slider, which would take around 30 minutes to move 15 inches. We then set the camera to take pictures every 3-seconds and 900 images later, you have about 14 seconds worth of amazing footage in 6K Raw images. In the background of this machine, you'd see the out-of-focus engineers whizzing around in a spectacular blitz of time. The ending result is fascinating and can make a really good impression.

For fast-moving industrial robotic pickers and packers, we film at higher-frame rates such as 100 frames per second, or 60 frames per second. This avoids motion blur from fast-moving automated robots. We will start with wide lenses and move into the subject, and later capture close-up shots of the control mechanisms and shots of the operators, whom are changing settings and loading products into the conveyor system itself.

Aerial Drone Filming

We are qualified with a CAA certification and we can capture commercial footage, and safely pilot around your factory, or outside your industrial complex. We moved into aerial drones so we could improve our industrial filming with opening clips which can tell a whole new story. For larger industrial sites, drones can circle around a perimeter or a structure such as a chimney etc, and it can look really professional.

Industrial Filming with Creative Cameras

We have a very small camera which can clamp tightly to a fast-moving section of an automated robot. This can focus on a tooling sequence, picking, packing, dipping and installing. This camera can be very close to the action where normal camera simply wouldn't be suitable or safe to place!

Post Production

This is where the magic is ultimately made. With different bits of footage, and the creative mindset needed to compose a video to make the best impression to your customers, we use powerful computers to copy the data from the storage memory cards onto very high-performance SSD drives. Once the footage is all in one place, we can proceed to edit and post-processing. We use Adobe Premiere and Adobe After-Effects to produce an industrial film or any other type of video production. 3D motion tracking can be applied to add text, large titles or graphics to link to moving subjects on the screen, and we can add other elements and effects, including music, and synchronicity between motion and sound of the footage.

Delivery

We send a rough draft of the video before the bulk of the post-processing begins, and once you have helped us get the footage right, we'll finish the filming production, and then send the finished video production to you electronically within a few days of the filming date. Footage can be sent on a flash drive through the post if this is preferable.
All footage is 4K, and this footage can be played on any TV (that supports a USB drive and external media), laptop, tablet, smartphone or computer.

Industrial Video Uses

Your video production can be utilised and made to gain conversions and really connect with your customers. You can link this video in your email footer (which every client can click on and see), and you can also post this on your website, or social media platforms such as LinkedIn or Instagram. This would be excellent as you would gain influence in your industry, and build new business opportunities. Video productions are commonly used in boardrooms and meeting rooms, to impress potential customers, and to subtly communicate to existing clients that visit your establishment.
